How often do you recommend an individual, pair or team be coached?
It depends:
Corporate Clients (Individuals): Twice per month for an hour each session. (This is separate from meetings with key stake holders, or conducting assessments/360s)
Corporate Clients (Teams): Team coaching requires a different structure (see Team Coaching for more detail). Teams would start their experience by taking a team diagnostic assessment, followed by an initial debrief session (1-2 day experience). This is then followed by 2-hour coaching accountability check-ins (for a period of 6 months), and a 6-month and/or 12-month redeployment of the assessment diagnostic too to see shifts since the coaching started -- but every situation is custom-designed to meet an employer's needs.
For individuals/pairs (contracting directly): Coaching can be flexibly designed to meet your needs. Starting out, clients might want weekly 45-minute sessions to jump start the process and then move to either (2) 45-minute sessions/mo. Sessions can be scheduled at a consistent set time or be planned week to week based on the client and coach's schedules.
Clients with ADD: If you have ADD and are coming to coaching for help with things like goal setting, time management, or even issues not as focused around structures, in order for the coaching to be effective, sessions should be weekly to establish a set routine. (You may even decide you need a few initial double sessions to jump start the process). See more detail around coaching for people with ADD by clicking here. NOTE: If your symptoms of ADD are not resolved (via therapy/medication or both), coaching will have little chance of success.
