No Matter Who You Are Or What You Do In This World, You Already Are A Leader. The Question Is: How & When Will You Choose To Serve?
Individuals Looking To Improve Personal Leadership
Whether you are a CEO...a teacher...a stay-at-home mom...a zoo keeper. You are a leader. We are all leaders. And we all can tap into our leadership to make our world a better, more productive and rewarding experience.
What does it mean to be a leader?
Leaders inspire and empower, they don't control...except when they have to, because sometimes you do. Leaders inspire you because of their passion and integrity, they don't force you to agree with them because they have the power to do so. They are role models who live the words they speak.
Leaders, true leaders, understand that being vulnerable, making mistakes, and admitting it, is not weakness but rather strength. These are the things that enable others to relate to you, to trust you, to want to follow you to the ends of the earth.
Leaders are willing to make the tough calls...Like you telling your colleague or friend that they have really messed up. Giving them your support but not lying to them because it's what they want to hear or because you fear their reaction...Because not everyone is ready for "truth" at every moment. And sometimes when people get mad at you for speaking the truth, they might reflect on your honesty and realize the value of your words...which they might or might not ever admit to you. And a true leader will speak up when they know they should, because being a leader is about being in true service of others, above and beyond the ramifications of your own personal ego.
Leaders gain confidence by knowing how to take advantage of their unique talents, and do not dwell on weakness. Sure, they mitigate weakness where necessary but true leaders know they are never going to get anywhere trying to fix weaknesses in an attempt to be just like everyone else. That leads to mediocrity. And who wants to be mediocre?!!
It is so easy to forget that we are all capable of raising our leadership to an extraordinary level.
And the higher a level of leadership you reach, the more "in synch" you feel. Your stress is less. Your conscience is clear. Your heart is full. You know you are making a difference in your workplace, your family, and your world.
Let's get started to bring out the empowered leader that you know you are.
